Category: A nice stop in the Perimeter Mall area.
Summary: Tasty and healthy vegetarian food.

Please don't ask me what the name of this restaurant means---I have no idea. But I am glad I stopped by. I was in the Perimeter Mall area and needed a fast lunch; I was in the mood for something moderately healthy. When I saw a sign on Peachtree Dunwoody Road for a vegetarian restaurant, I decided to give it a try.

I thorougly enjoyed my lunch.  I had a lentil soup and the falafel platter. The lentil soup was fine; the falafel platter really got my attention. The bread was pillowy and warm, obviously fresh. The falafel was pretty good. The vegetable medley that served as a bed was very bright and fresh tasting, a perfect accompaniament. The hummus came with an oil dressing and was another good complement. As you can see, they also get Brownie points for food styling.

I can't help but comment on this.  I passed by Eclipse di Luna, near Perimeter Mall, which bills itself as a tapas restaurant.  Their special tonight?  Chicken fried steak.  Hmmm...I didn't realize that was a Spanish delicacy.

Leslie and I were in a protein mood, so we headed to McKendrick's Steak House across from Perimeter Mall. I've been intrigued with this possibility for quite some time and I'm glad that I got the chance to go.

Leslie won the salad competition with a salad of heirloom tomatoes plus mozarella and bleu cheese. The tomatoes were exquisite; sometimes heirlooms can be more interesting in concept than in the flesh, but these were great.

My ribeye was buttery in texture on the inside with just enough char on the outside. It's a big cut but you don't go to a steak place to be shy.

I've been curious about Joey D's since I moved here. It's near Perimeter Mall, so I drive by it regularly, and the thought of an Italian steak house is always tantalizing. This is part of a chain, not family owned, but I came away very satisfied nonetheless. The decor is steak house moderne---more light and air but still with the wood theme that we see in so many steak houses.

My salad was very enjoyable; I think it had some pignoli in it, among other items. I was a little surprised that they didn't have a wedge salad on the menu, though. My ribeye was great. It was a very nice cut, just enough char, and it was perfectly done. For dessert, I had their cheesecake which comes from Carnegie Deli in New York. Too many cheesecakes are gelatin-heavy but a proper cheesecake is very cheesy. This was a proper cheesecake---wonderful and big enough that I couldn't finish it.

Schakolad is in the penumbra of Perimeter Mall in one of the smaller malls. It seems to specialize in personalized chocolates for corporate clients, embossed with logos etc. They also have a selection of chocolates, including ganaches with patterns silk screened on them, as is the fashion. The chocolate itself is more sugary in the American style.
